ocr: Calculating. Net Profit Having calculated what goods sold cost to manufacture, a profit and loss account would be completed in the usual way. By deducting the total manufacturing cost of goods sold from sales revenue earned we would arrive at a gross profit figure which would measure the profit the business is earning trom carrying out its manufacturing pperations alone. It would then only leave us to deduct non-manufacturing expenses such as those incurred in sales, distribution and administrative areas of the business to finally calculate the bottom-line net profit.
